La automotriz Mercedes Benz Argentina SA, es acusada de complicidad con elterrorismo de Estado implementado en laArgentina durante la última dictadura militar y por secuestros y torturas a trabajadores que continúan desaparecidos. Héctor Aníbal Ratto, fue detenido ilegalmente en agosto de 1977 en la fábrica por un grupo armado perteneciente alEjército Argentino, permaneció en cautiverio clandestino y bajo tortura, recuperando la libertad en marzo de 1979.
“Poweredby Mercedes Benz” / Impulsado por Mercedes Benz es el lema de la empresa automotriz, y es tomado como el título de esta obra, haciendo referencia a la responsabilidad que tuvo la compañía en la desaparición forzada de los trabajadores durante 1976 a 1983. Una acuarela de la planta donde fue secuestrado Héctor Ratto, uno de los pocos sobrevivientes, es acompañada por su testimonio. Este trabajo se propone como dos elementos, la pintura y el audio de la entrevista, que en su superposición crean una capa invisible de sentido que será activada por el espectador.
Tanto en la Argentina, como en el resto de Latinoamérica, todavía sigue invisibilizada e impune la responsabilidad de las empresas durante la última dictadura militar en las violaciones a los derechos humanos y delitos de lesa humanidad.

Mercedes Benz Argentina is accused of complicity with State terrorism implemented in Argentina during the last military dictatorship, and for kidnappings and torture of workers who are still missing.
Hector Aníbal Ratto, was illegally detained in August 1977 inside the factory by an armed group belonging to the Argentine Army, remained in clandestine captivity and under torture, regaining his freedom in March 1979.
"Powered by Mercedes Benz” is the motto of the automotive company and taken as the title of this work, making reference to the responsibility that the company had in the forced disappearance of the workers during 1976 to 1983. A watercolor from the plant where Hector Ratto was kidnapped, one of the few survivors, is accompanied by his testimony. This work is proposed as two elements, which in their superposition create an invisible layer of meaning that will be activated by the viewer.
What is that anchored to the images that makes us see other things in them?
In Argentina, as in the rest of Latin America, the responsibility of companies during the last military dictatorship in the violations of human rights and crimes against humanity is still invisible and unpunished.
